On the other side....

Mary says…..

Here is a picture of the fence and gate at the orphanage where Alina and Vitaly have lived since they were infants.

Look closely at the fence. This is what they have seen since they were old enough to go outside. Blurs walking by their fence. The people on the other side are just blurs to them. They can’t make out exactly what they look like, who they are, or where they are going. For the most part, they are unaware of the blurs presence. After living with something so long, you get used to it.
I’ve seen the blurs. I’ve noticed them since the first day we arrived. I wonder if any of those blurs ever stop and try to see through the fence.
I wonder if they even notice the sound of laughing or crying coming from the other side.

Then it hits me, I’ve been a blur. I’ve gone by those needing something and kept going. If I don’t stop to see, then I can pretend I don’t know.

I don’t want to be a blur anymore.

Alina and Tolly have taken a new interest in that fence and gate. They know that something is on the other side of that fence. Something very special.
What's Going on out There?  Can I play too?

We got to see our new friends Ray and Alex leave with their kids a week ago through that gate. Alina and Tolly got to see their old friends, Max and Lena, go through that gate. Now, they long for their turn. Everyday this last week, at one time or another, they've gone to the gate.

They stand and wait for us to open it.  They anticipate what is on the other side. Oh my, I can’t wait to show them. It’s a family, and a home and more love than they have ever known.  (And chocolate.)

With all my heart!! To see him standing at that gate just melts me down to a puddle on the floor. God is unbelievably good!
